Born and brought up in the Himalayan region of Mukteshwar, I am an avid trekker with a wide knowledge of the Himalayan terrain. I organise leisure treks, nature walks, motorbiking expeditions, outdoor camps in the mountains. A bird-watcher and a star-gazer, I am also an amature photographer and documentary film maker. I run my family guest house, the Somerset Lodge located in Gahana Orchards, Mukteshwar. Monica Chand

An outdoors enthusiast, Monica Chand, is also a yoga exponent. She received her training in the Krishnamacharya tradition of yoga under Navtej Johar at Studio Abhyas and also trained in Yoga Therapy from the Krishnamacharya Yoga Mandiram, Chennai. She is also trained in Hatha Yoga and is a certified Pranic Healer. She has been training and teaching for the past 8 years and now teaches Yoga for Children, Advanced Yoga for Adults, Pre and Post Natal Yoga and is consultant for Yoga Therapy at Studio Abhyas. Mixing her passion for yoga with that of the outdoors, Monica offers specially designed yoga sessions for outdoor enthusiasts along the mountain trails.
